The Associate Dean for Academic Affairs will oversee academic and student services within the School of Education (SoE), in consultation with chairs, program directors, and University partners. S/he will engage in the research, development, and execution of a broad range of strategic School-wide initiatives, including new academic programs, research initiatives, and faculty professional development. The Associate Dean will deliver results on a portfolio of projects of School and institutional importance and, thus, represent the Dean and the School of Education appropriately in selected internal and external interactions.

* Responsible for overseeing implementation of academic policies and standards, including exceptions, grievances, and program changes, while collaborating with the SoE leadership team.
* Oversee and direct the development of a broad range of School and institutionally significant projects on behalf of the Deanís Office, including feasibility studies, research, design, development, coordination, and implementation.
* Lead a participative process to articulate and design a robust program supporting student and faculty research, including internal collaboration grants, external grant applications, and longitudinal projects that enhance the Schoolís academic mission.
* Oversee ongoing projects to ensure the Deanís Office agenda is effectively progressing according to plan objectives, milestones, and measurements. This includes the prioritization and execution of projects and initiatives from leadership and committee meetings.
* Work collaboratively with University offices, including Graduate and Professional Services, Office of Curricular Support, University Relations, Office of Research and Grants, General Counsel, and others as necessary to complete regular duties and special assignments.
* Review analyses of activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine progress toward stated goals and objectives, especially relating to recruitment, enrollment, budgets, and personnel.
* Write reports and proposals on behalf of the Dean to advance the Schoolís momentum.
* Serve as special projects liaison with external constituents on behalf of the Dean.
* Periodically represent the School at external events and at APU Regional Campuses.
* Serves on School of Educationís Leadership Team with Associate/Assistant Dean colleagues and Chairs.
* Perform other duties as requested by the Dean.
Level: Academic Administrator
* Doctorate in a discipline appropriate to for a leadership role in the School of Education.
* Demonstrated commitment to professional and scholarly activity (e.g., scholarly publications, academic conference presentations, and grant writing).
* Prior University academic administrative experience.
* Demonstrated solutions-oriented member of a dynamic team who can engender the trust of the constituents s/he serves.
* Demonstrated commitment to fostering a culture of diversity, equity, social justice, and inclusive excellence.
