Online Lecturer in Biostatistics & Epidemiology
The Biostatistics and Epidemiology department in SPHHS is seeking applicants for a campus based, online Lecturer in Biostatistics and Epidemiology. This is a one year, renewable, 9-month, non-tenure track faculty position.
The successful candidate will join the faculty in the Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology and will teach all courses 100% online. Responsibilities include teaching 8 courses per year, 4 courses in each of the fall and spring semesters. Tentatively, the class schedule will most likely include the following courses:
Fall terms:
Introduction to Biostatistics
Principles of Epidemiology
Public Health Informatics
Health Analytics Certificate course (to be developed)
Spring terms:
Introduction to Biostatistics
Principles of Epidemiology
Health Analytics Certificate course (to be developed)
Health Analytics Certificate course (to be developed)
In addition to teaching, this faculty will also provide service to the department. Service responsibilities will include assisting the Continuing and Professional Education Program Director and Academic Director in building and expanding SPHHS online programs. Duties may also include serving on new faculty search committees, new course and new program development, and serving as a member of the Online Public Health Practice Degree Program Advisory Committee.
Qualifications & Requirements
Candidates must have:
Terminal degree (PhD, ScD, D.Ph.) in Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Public Health or related field
Strong Evidence of prior Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Public Health or related field
Prior collaborative experience in working with health care systems data
Advanced proficiency in SAS and R software
Online teaching experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
