Sr. Research Analyst (Surgery)|
The Department of Surgery is currently seeking a Sr. Research Analyst. The Senior Research Analyst prepares data, conducts statistical analysis and summarizes results for large research projects.
Ensures ongoing COI compliance status with PI.
Assist PIs with letter of intents and pre-application submissions.
Reviews sponsor solicitation for proposal content and requirements and ensure PI addresses requirements.
Prepares budget based on input from PI with regards to specifications provided by the sponsor in the solicitation.
Coordinates the preparation of collaborative proposals which includes collecting proposals and sub recipient commitment forms from sub award institutions.
Assist in obtaining letters of intent for sub-site entities and all other pertinent information.
Identifies final budget, budget justification, and statement of work and ensures they are compliant with specifications provided by the sponsor.
Assists with uploading of budget page, Biosketch, publications list, current and pending support list, certification of pages, and other required forms.
Assists with creating pdf files, hard copies and CDs (as applicable) and routing to ORA’s approval for paper submission.
Gathers and uploads documentation for just-in-time requests in a timely manner.
Ensures PI & project are COI compliant before award is released.
Ensures subaward agreement and requisitions are sent to ORA
Maintaining financial information for all sponsored accounts assigned such as disbursements, expenses, and new awards.
Reconciling sponsored accounts on a monthly basis using University of Miami systems (DMAS, FRS, DHRS/Workday, Report 90s, etc).
Preparing monthly account status reports and reviewing them with Principal Investigators.
Maintaining an internal database on a daily basis with all new expenditures and soft encumbrances.
Expense management to ensure all award and University guidelines are followed with regards to personnel effort, allowable costs, and budget constraints.
Individual will assist in the fiscal budget preparation process. Will also be responsible for processing journal entries, payroll accounting adjustments, prior approvals and other transaction documents. Serve as the liaison between the division and outside agencies. Executes retroactive transfers to correct misallocated expenditures within allowed timeframe. Collaborates with the Office of Research Administration to perform sponsored restricted account closings.
Works independently with limited supervision. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
Oversee departmental compliance, processing, and approval of the semi-annual effort certification process.
Initiate purchasing requests, add new vendors, negotiate equipment service agreements, and investigate and troubleshoot purchasing related issues related to inaccurate and inconsistent purchase requisitions and invoices as well as unresolved or lost payments.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Three years of relevant work experience and a strong background working with research administration
Must be meticulous and detailed oriented
Must be able to write and communicate well
