Job Description
The System Administration Intern will support the IT Infrastructure team in maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing our server environments and network systems. This individual will gain hands-on experience with enterprise-level hardware and software while ensuring maximum uptime and security for our digital workspace. Key Responsibilities System Maintenance: Assist in the installation, configuration, and patching of servers, operating systems, and core applications. Technical Support: Resolve Tier 1 and Tier 2 hardware and software issues for team members across the organization. Network Monitoring: Monitor system performance and connectivity to identify and escalate potential bottlenecks or security vulnerabilities. Documentation: Create and update technical guides, inventory logs, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the IT knowledge base. User Management: Manage account lifecycle tasks, including onboarding, offboarding, and permission adjustments within Active Directory or cloud identity providers. Automation & Scripting: Support the team in writing or refining basic scripts to automate repetitive administrative tasks. Security Compliance: Participate in routine security audits and data backup verification to ensure organizational data integrity.
Preferred Qualifications Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Foundational knowledge of Linux/Unix or Windows Server environments. A collaborative mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving. Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
